Third sector partnership aims to boost digital skills for social enterprises

SOCIAL Investment Scotland (SIS) has joined forces with Third Sector Lab to boost the digital skills of Scotland’s social enterprises.

The partnership between two of Scotland’s leading third sector organisations will provide SIS’s customers with free access to Third Sector Lab’s annual online training scheme, The Curve, throughout 2024.

The Curve consists of a series of live 90-minute workshops run by the Third Sector Lab’s leading digital experts, aiming to build knowledge and understanding of best practices and tools to help organisations increase their impact through digital communications.

Participating social enterprises will acquire skills in digital marketing, data and analytics, content creation, cyber security, and digital strategy, which they can use to improve their own digital strategies and in-house practices.

Participants will also receive full access to the Third Sector Lab’s upcoming online learning platform as well as access to an online community of practitioners who are embedding digital within their everyday work.

Kieran Daly, head of market building at SIS, said: “Given the pace of technological change and its impact on the way we work and live, digital skills are now a must-have in the workplace.

“For social enterprises, however, it can be challenging to access the training and support needed to accelerate their digital skills. Many may not even know how to get started.

“Through our partnership with the Third Sector Lab, we’re aiming to close that gap, by helping our customers learn business critical skills which will help to improve the management and operation of their own social enterprises.

“In doing so, we can empower our customers to deliver greater impact within their communities.”

Ross McCulloch, director at Third Sector Lab, added, “We are proud to join forces with Social Investment Scotland by delivering digital transformation for social enterprises of all types.

“Together, we aim to drive positive change and build a more resilient and digitally empowered third sector which can play a central role in a wellbeing economy.”
