Police panned online for prideful post showing off pitiful sum of cannabis seized from stop and search suspects

A LOCAL police force has been left red-faced after being panned by social media users for the measly sum of cannabis they took off the streets.

South Hornchurch Police shared how their officers had approached a group acting in an anti-social manner by a block of flats in Rainham, East London yesterday.

A successful stop and search followed, but the officers’ pride came before a fall after their post sharing their tiny haul of drugs was the subject of ridicule

Consisting of little more than half a gram of the class B drug, Brits were convinced the police force’s post had to be “satire”.

Police were taunted for the measly sum they seized.

An image shared to social media by South Hornchurch Police yesterday shows a tiny sum of cannabis stashed safely away in an evidence bag.

Alongside this another bag can be seen which appears to contain a cannabis grinder used to break the plant down.

The coppers shared the post to show off the work they do in the community, but social media users were quick to ridicule them for wasting time on the tiny bust.

Brits have since suggested the police couldn’t have taken much more than half a gram of the class B drug off the streets.

The post was shared to social media yesterday with the caption: “Another successful stop and search of suspects using the Cherry Tree flat stairwell for [anti-social behaviour] and drugs.”

It has since received over 200 likes and nearly 250 comments from social media users left in stitches at the coppers’ overconfidence.

One user joked: “This is satire… right? It has to be satire.”

Another sarcastically joked: “Oh my lord. Half a gram of cannabis. How dare they show their face again. Disgusting behavior. Top result there,”

A third said: “Well that’s just embarrassing isn’t it lads.  I’m sure there is probably someone doing 20.5mph you need to Tupac and use the armed cops on too.”

Another added: “Job well done lads hopefully you’ll have time to get round to investigating jokes on Twitter after this big bust.”

A fifth challenged: “It is customary to share with the public the street value of the illicit drugs seized during major busts like this, would you mind sharing?”

The Met Police didn’t provide a comment on the subject when approached.
