Police seek witnesses to robbery

Police are appealing for witnesses to the robbery

A MAN has been arrested after allegedly stealing hundreds of pounds from a grocers.

The man is accused of threatening the shopkeeper at the store in Wallyford with a knife during the incident at 7.30pm on Friday.

The 24-year-old allegedy made off with the cash by running into Fa’aside Avenue North.

The man was described by the Police as white, in his early 20s, of medium build, 5ft 10ins tall and wearing a waist-length black jacket with a small white motif on the right breast, and in the middle upper back.

A police spokesman said they were still looking for witnesses to the alleged attack. He said: “While a man has been arrested and charged in connection with the robbery, we remain keen for anyone who was in the Fa’side area of Wallyford on Friday afternoon, who may have noticed anyone fitting the description given above, to contact police.”
