Dunfermline closing in on the signing of Raith Rovers star Euan Murray

DUNFERMLINE are closing in on the signing of Raith Rovers defender Euan Murray.

The Pars have seen a five-figure fee accepted for Murray, who was a standout for Rovers last season as they narrowly missed out on promotion from League 1.

Talks have now begun between Murray, Pars boss Stevie Crawford and chairman Ross McArthur and it is understood Dunfermline hope to seal a deal in the next 24 hours.

The 25-year-old, who has also been linked with Premiership outfit Livingston, has made 92 appearances for the Stark’s Park outfit in two years at the club and captained John McGlynn’s side while Kyle Benedictus was injured during a portion of last season.

The Pars have already snapped up Gabby McGill, Matthew Bowman, Kyle Turner, Aaron Comrie and Ryan Dow during a busy close season.

There was, however, better news for Rovers on Wednesday as they secured the signings of Grant Anderson, Joao Victoria and Brad Spencer, with another arrival expected on Thursday.
