Stirling Castle, set on a volcanic crag, is available for private hire in the evening for a wide range of corporate and private events including product launches, incentive dinners, formal banquets, gala dinners and wedding ceremonies and receptions.

Talking about her appointment, Carla said: “It’s not every day the opportunity arises to work in such a historic and iconic venue and now I’m here I think it’s the most unique venue I’ve ever had the pleasure of working in.

“Some events cry out for a magnificent venue, and few locations in the world can rival the drama and majesty of Stirling Castle.

“All our spaces – such as the impressive 16th century Great Hall or the magnificent Chapel Royal – are so flexible, and we offer superb dining and entertainment that guests will adore.

“Our team is focused on delivering service excellence for clients visiting from all over the globe and I’m really excited to see some of these visions come to life.”

Carla started her career in finance in Edinburgh. After eight years, she opted for a career change into hospitality and events and went back to university.

With a BA in festival and event management from Edinburgh Napier University Carla joined Edinburgh First for her first role in events management.

After ten years, she then moved to Speakeasy Productions Ltd where she focused on content production and speaker management.

Most recently before joining Stirling Castle, Carla spent two years with the University of Stirling where she was responsible for managing various departments throughout the university during the pandemic.

The ancient home of Scottish kings and queens Stirling Castle dates back to the 12th century and has been home to many of Scotland’s royalty, hosting historic and glamorous events including the christening of James VI in the Chapel Royal.
