Scots star Grado claims he made former Hibs striker Jason Cummings a “household name”

SCOTS star Grado claims he is the man who made former Hibs forward Jason Cummings a “household name” following a viral clip of the pair.

The 34-year-old was hosting an episode of his Pint and Two Shots podcast yesterday alongside Chris Toal and Stephen Purdon when he made the claim.

The podcast had gone on the road this week to the Hibs training ground to speak with players Chris Cadden and Mikey Devlin.

Grado from Stevenston, North Ayrshire made the claim in reference to his infamous wrestling bout with Aussie striker Cummings back in April 2017.

A clip shared online saw Grado, dressed in his unitard, scrap with Cummings, 27, who was dressed in a pair of pants with ‘CumDog’ hilariously scrawled in black ink on his chest.

The pair duked it out in the Hibs canteen area, with Cummings eventually gaining victory over Insane Championship Wrestling star Grado, going on to proclaim he would be heading to WrestleMania.

Speaking on the podcast yesterday following his return to the bout’s arena, Grado said: “I believe this when I say this, I put that boy on the map.

“Nobody had heard of CumDog before he wrestled me.”

Chris Cadden, dressed in his Hibs training kit, interjects at this point saying: “He’s not looked back, he’s not looked back since.

“He’s went from strength to strength.”

Scot Squad star Chris Toal then has the room in fits of laughter as he tells them how Cummings has been a success since swapping Edinburgh for Gosford in New South Wales, Australia.

Toal says: “He’s done well for himself, since he left Hibs he’s a CumDog millionaire.”

After Grado recovers his composure, he adds: “That is brilliant.”

Since leaving the Hibees in 2017, Cummings has had stints at several clubs including Nottingham Forest, Rangers, Dundee and now, Central Coast Mariners in Australia.

Cummings is currently hoping to help his side reach the A-League Grand Final, with the team due to face Adelaide United on Saturday in the first of their two-leg affair.
