Scots left in stitches as new £990 Burberry hoodie is compared to “Scotrail seat”

SCOTS have been left in stitches after world-famous fashion brand Burberry released a £990 hoodie which has been compared to a “Scotrail seat”.

Burberry is recognised throughout the world, especially for famous its beige, black and red tartan-check pattern with bags, jackets and hats being worn from Neilston to New York.

One of the fashion house’s latest pieces however caused a stir in Scotland after many social media users felt they recognised the pattern.

Images of the blue and white check fleece hoodie were hilariously compared to the country’s national train service Scotrail’s seats.

The fleece was spotted by a Scot online who shared a picture to social media comparing the fashionable fleece to a train seat.

Nic Clark posted an image of the hoodie online last week with the caption: “£990 to look like a Scotrail seat.”

Her post received over 200 likes with comments from fashion fans who were left chuckling at the comparison.

Social media users were quick to comment on the post with some referencing Scotrail’s struggle with timekeeping.

One said: “Probably get delivered late or just not turn up.”

Another added: “Here that’s right up my street.”

A third replied: “£990?”

Burberry describe the product as a fleece hoodie, woven with a seasonal check, the design cut to a relaxed fit with drawcord hood and hem with side slip pockets and elasticated cuffs.

However, whilst there might be many who opt to part with their money to purchase the item of clothing that hasn’t stopped the comparisons with Scotrail themselves jokingly wading in.

The transport corporation posted an image of their seats with the caption: “It’s a beautiful day for some legal action.”

Burberry are currently worth an estimated £4.7bn pounds and are one of the most well-loved British fashion institutions since being founded in 1856 by then 21-year-old Thomas Burberry.
