Furniture firm showcases their sustainable vision for the hotel of the future

A UK FURNITURE firm has revealed their sustainable vision for the hotel of the future thanks to a collaboration with three design studios.

Furniture Fusion‘s project was unveiled at industry event HIX2023, where it featured an AI-generated concept for a hotel lobby.

Bell & Swift, Studio du Feu and 3D Reid were each tasked with designing an area of a contemporary hotel: a hotel lounge & lobby, restaurant & bar and bedroom feature.

3D Reid designed a hotel room which showcased a headboard and bedside table made with Agri-Panel, an eco-friendly panel product made from waste straw left after the harvest of crops.

Studio du Feu were tasked with designing the hotel bar, in which they used cork and recycled plastics to create the tabletops.

Bell & Swift were assigned with constructing the hotel’s lobby in one of the key themes for HIX2023: Artificial Intelligence.

Conscious of concerns around AI and what it will mean for the industry, the team explored how they could use it as a tool and harness it for good in their design for a hotel lobby.

An AI-generated bespoke sofa was created to incorporate everything one would need to work, recharge and relax.

Sam Samuels, Managing Director of Furniture Fusion said: ā€œIt was great to see that each of the studios opted to use some kind of sustainable or recyclable material ā€“ along with the use of AI tools which offers so much potential for the future.

“I hope that the campaign will encourage more designers to approach us with projects that require bespoke furniture giving us further opportunity to curate, collaborate and create.ā€
