Shocking moment car flies straight over the top of Birmingham roundabout, wipes out other motorist

THIS is the shocking moment a speeding car flies straight over the top of a roundabout, wiping out another driver as it lands.

The incident took place at a roundabout by an Asda store on Queslett Road in Birmingham, West Midlands and was caught on dashcam by an onlooking motorist.

The footage has emerged just days after another traffic accident on Soho Road in Birmingham that left one man dead and two in hospital.

The dashcam footage shows the filming car approaching the busy roundabout alongside a white Tesla, slowly coming to a stop at their entrance.

Right as the motors prepare to join the roundabout though, a speeding car can be seen flying in from the right of the screen via the previous exit.

The grey car careens into the roundabout, catching its bumper on the kerb and launching into the air, soaring for a good distance before crashing back down to earth on the other side.

Upon landing, the car smashes down and into the side of another motorist, wiping them out and sending their vehicle into a spin.

Not stopping however, the offending car manages to find the junction on the other side of the roundabout and slides off down the road.

Wobbling from side to side and badly damaged with barely any traction, the grey car eventually comes to a skidding stop a little way down the road.

Both the motorist in the car that recorded the incident and a smaller red car that was on the roundabout inch forward to offer assistance to those involved in the crash.

The motorist recording the incident reaches the wiped-out car and comes to a stop before the sound of a seatbelt being undone can be heard as the driver prepares to get out and help the unlucky driver.

The footage was shared to social media yesterday with the caption: “Asda Queslett.”

The clip has since received dozens of likes and comments from social media users left stunned at the dopey motorist’s actions so soon after the fatal crash on Soho Road.

One user said: “When they tell you go straight over the roundabout.”

Another added: “There ain’t no way (sic), 24 hours later.”

A third commented: “What’s going on in the city?”

On Sunday at 8:20pm, a married father was killed in the crash on Soho Road when an Audi ploughed into at least six other cars at high speed, whilst two others were hospitalised.

A 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving in relation to the incident.

Andy Street, Mayor of the West Midlands, described it as “another needless death in Birmingham”.

He went on to say: “Road safety is a priority across the whole West Midlands and this incident is a reminder that we need all partners – including Birmingham City Council – to play their full part.

“Now is the time to double down on our road safety responsibilities, not step away.”
