THIS is the hilarious moment that an elderly woman is unexpectedly scooped up into the air by a shop shutter and left dangling until she is saved by the shop owners.
The heart-stopping incident took place in Tonteg, Wales yesterday outside the Best One shop on Cardigan Close.
CCTV footage captures the moment that the anonymous woman suddenly gets taken for an unsuspecting ride courtesy of the shop shutter opening.
The pensioner is left appealing for help but has no luck as she dangles almost six feet off the ground unable to get back to gravity.
The clip begins as the woman dressed in a long black jacket and blue scarf the woman drags her granny trolley and leans against the shutter.
Whilst she relaxes and waits for the store to open she becomes unaware of the fact her coat has managed to get trapped on the shutter.
As the shutter begins to rise the woman comes to her senses and tries to unhook herself from the store’s security system unsuccessfully.
Unable to defy gravity, the woman is swept up off her feet by the shutters coming to a stop at the top of the shop leaving her unable to get down.
The shopkeeper appears to notice the elderly woman hanging over his door as a pair of feet can be seen running past the door inside the shop.
As the man sprints out to the aid of his stricken customer, he holds her to avoid her head hitting the ground and returns her back to the pavement safely.
He unhooks the woman as the video comes to a close ensuring that she is safe from harm and able to return to her normal day after the unbelievable start she just had.
The footage was shared to social media yesterday with the caption: “Best one prices don’t go up, only the staff go up.”
The post received over 156,000 likes and more than 2,500 comments from social media users left in stitches by the footage.
