A BRIT gymgoer has been slammed by a fitness influencer after she filmed herself spitting on a barbell in her local health club.
Joey Swoll, who regularly shares social media content exposing and reprimanding poorly behaved individuals in gyms, turned his sights on the woman yesterday for her disgusting actions.
Joey revealed that the woman belongs to a David Lloyd health club in Derby, Derbyshire and that he has reported her to the staff there with the hopes that they “kick her a** out”.
The woman’s video – which reveals her name is Leah Shorty – shows her kneeling next to a barbell in the gym.
Wearing workout gear and a pair of headphones, Leah leans over and spits onto the end of the bar – with some dripping onto the floor below – before rubbing it into the bar in a suggestive manner.
Whilst Leah has since deleted her video, Joey clipped it and recorded his reaction as he sits in his car.
He says: “I am so sorry about the graphic content in this video, I didn’t even want to post it but something needs to be said. Videos like this need to stop.”
The influencer goes on to say: “Things like this should never happen at the gym and it blows my mind that this girl thought this was okay to do, and film, then post on social media.”
Infuriated he continues, asking the woman: “Do you not have any self-respect or dignity?
“What makes it even worse, somebody from this gym reached out to me. This isn’t just a gym, this is a health club called David Lloyd in Derby, England.
“A health club that hosts a ton of events for little kids – little kids are always all over the gym and the club.”
Joey goes on to say that he reached out to David Lloyd, sending them the woman’s video to them to make them aware of what was going on in their premises.
He continues: “I really hope they kick your a** out because this is absolutely disgusting. You need to do better, mind your own business.”
Joey shared the video to social media yesterday with the caption: “This is absolutely disgusting. I can’t believe she thought this was okay to do and film at the gym.”
The clip has since received over 9,500 likes and more than 560 comments from Brits and beyond who joined Joey in condemning the woman’s actions.
One user said: “Charges should be equivalent to spitting in food or tampering with food at grocery stores. So gross.”
Another added: “Brother I love you calling out this trash. Your reach is making a difference.”
A third wrote: “Hope she enjoys looking for a new place to work out after this blows up. Spit on that.”
Another commented: “Why do people think it’s okay to behave this way? Not only is that vile and unhygienic, but where’s her self-respect?”
A spokesperson for David Lloyd Clubs said: “This member was banned from our club early last year as soon as we found out about this.
“We absolutely do not condone behaviour of this kind.”
