Mr Hunter has headed the firm’s Dispute Resolution department for seven years and has been on the former executive board since 2018.

His new role gives him overall responsibility for the firm’s strategic and opernational performance.

On his election he said: “I look forward to leading a positive new era for BTO, ensuring the continued and enhanced delivery of quality legal services to our clients.

“Our restructured management board is fully committed to providing clear, decisive leadership and direction, supporting the training and development of our people, driving sustainable, profitable growth across the business and adding new clients and top-tier legal talent to the firm.”

Ms Carr has previously worked in senior internal roles for over a decade, whilst also leading an employment team that has expanded significantly. She will retain her client facing role while also undertaking firmwide leadership responsibilities as chair.

She commented: “It gives me great pleasure to take on the role of chair of BTO. Having been present during various pivotal moments in our firm’s history, I am excited and energised to contribute to this next stage in its evolution.

“I am committed to playing an important role in shaping the firm’s strategic direction over the coming years, leveraging my commercial experience gained over many years as an employment lawyer, to promote our corporate identity, nurture our talent and inspire BTO and our colleagues to reach their full potential.”

Both Mr Hunter and Ms Carr are determined to continue the success of the firm in the future.
