A SPECIAL auction to raise funds for charities supporting the people of Ukraine fleeing the Russian invasion will be held this week by Caledonian Marts in Stirling.

The auction will be simultaneously live and online with restaurant vouchers, holidays, farming equipment, livestock, sporting memorabilia and experience tickets up for grabs.

The auction will get underway this Saturday April 23 at 11am.

“We are delighted with the lots generously donated for this sale,” said John Kyle, managing director of Caledonian Marts commented.

“I would love to see some competitive bidding on Saturday so that we can raise money for the Ukrainian people affected by the horrors of the Russian invasion.

“Our regular mart customers, friends and contacts have answered our call for donations and I am so grateful to them for their support.”

Kyle said they have sporting memorabilia ranging from a signed Frank Lampard top to a commemorative tennis top signed by Andy Murray.

He added: “There are butchers vouchers, restaurant vouchers, Murrayfield international tickets, golf days – you name it!

“For the farmers, there is everything from engine oil to a plough, cows with calves, ewes with lambs, and even llamas.

“I can’t mention every lot individually, but I would really encourage people to take a look for themselves online, any time, then register to bid or pass on to a friend who might like to bid when the sale gets underway on Saturday morning.

“Members of the public and farmers alike – even those who have never been to an auction before – are all very welcome to attend the auction in person at our mart, just off Millhall Road in Stirling.”

Caledonian Marts is a firm of auctioneers and valuers, specialising in livestock, plant and equipment sales from their Stirling base.

Their special Ukraine charity auction was announced last month and has since attracted over 170 sale lots which will be sold live in-person and online.
