Lewis Capaldi leaves fans in stitches online after replying to user who claims to know his “secret”

LEWIS Capaldi has left fans in stitches with his reply to a social media user who claimed to know the crooner’s “secret”.

The 26-year-old offered up a cheeky reply to a user who clickbaited a video alluding that he knew Capaldi’s “big secret”.

The singer from Bathgate, West Lothian is known for his cheeky Scottish humour and made no change in his latest jibe, with a claim that his secret was that he is a virgin.

The user – who goes by Northern Introvert – can be heard jokingly saying in his original video posted on Wednesday: “I know your secret, Lewis Capaldi.

The displayed text reads: “Lewis Capaldi’s big secret”.

Underneath the text is a photo of Capaldi grimacing at the camera as he holds two big thumbs up.

Northern Introvert jokes that the root of Capaldi’s success is science, and continues his spiel as a photo of a topless Capaldi holding his award appears on the screen.

He says: “You’ve been writing hit single after hit single. I was just left wondering how is he doing this?”

The TikTok star then comically pretends to conduct a study on the root of Capaldi’s success, with the video showing him searching up Capaldi’s songs on Spotify.

In a conclusion to the pretend experiment, he then says: “Lewis Capaldi has been using magnetic brain stimulation to improve his songwriting.”

In response to the video, Capaldi posted his own yesterday in which he revealed his deep “secret”.

In Capaldi’s video, Northern Introvert can again be heard saying he knows Capaldi’s secret.

Before any further comment though, Capaldi interrupts the video, hilariously holding a poker face as he replies: “I’m a virgin”.

The video left many chuckling as it received 60,200 likes and 635 comments from fans who were left in stitches.

One person wrote: “I really can’t tell if he’s joking or not at this point.”

Another cheeky user said: “Lewis, I can change that”.

A third commented: “Was it really a secret, though?”

A fourth added: “Aye and you swiped left on me on Tinder two years ago when we had the exact same song on our profiles.”

Capaldi has been celebrating this week after gaining the number one album slot on the Official Albums Chart with his second project Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent.

The Scot was recently spotted at Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Dundee , where he was told off for accidentally swearing during his performance.

He was one of many performers who attended the festival alongside The Jonas Brothers, Anne-Marie and Niall Horan.
