OZZY Osbourne has seemingly confirmed the decades-long rumour that he snorted a line of ants – despite his wife Sharon’s objections.
The 74-year-old is well-known for his antics both on and off-stage as part of his rock and roll lifestyle in the 1980s – and is thought to have sniffed the ants whilst on tour with heavy metal band Mötley Crüe.
It is rumoured that Ozzy asked Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx for a line of cocaine but, after being told that there was no cocaine left, Osbourne allegedly picked up a straw and instead snorted ants.
In a recent podcast hosted by son Jack, the Black Sabbath singer finally answered the decades-old question but was quickly rebuked by his 71-year-old wife who had her doubts.
The video begins with Jack smiling at the camera as he poses the question to his father: “Did you actually snort ants?”
Ozzy, from Birmingham, replies with a serious look: “They say it, yeah.”
However, Jack appears doubtful as he asks: “Did he actually snort ants, Mum?”
The camera then pans to a doubtful Sharon, who claims: “I was not there, thank god.”
She continues: “I used to try and stay away from Mötley when they were with Ozzy.”
Ozzy chimes in: “Yes!”
However, Sharon continues: “I say no.”
Ozzy protests: “Yes, I did. I was there. I did it in my nostril.”
He holds two fingers up as he says: “Two.”
Jack then redirects his question back to Ozzy as he points to his head: “Did you feel them crawling around in your sinuses or did you get like an ant drip?”
The pair chortle as the true answer appears to remain somewhat of a mystery.
The clip was posted last week by The Osbournes Podcast, with the caption: “Did Ozzy Osbourne actually snort ants?”
The post received over 83,300 likes, and more than 330 comments from fans who shared their own thoughts on the age-old rumour.
One person wrote: “Ozzy has lived a life most of us can’t even imagine.”
Another said: “There’s a 50/50 shot if he actually did it but, knowing Ozzy, it’s probably true.”
A third commented: “He felt them crawling in his brain. Come on, man. We know it.”
Another added: “Let’s get Nikki {Sixx] on the phone.”
A fifth wrote: “’Ant drip’ – Jack’s definitely been on a few ski trips.”
Whilst Osbourne seemingly confirming the story to be true, it is also rumoured that Osbourne once bit the head off a bat after believing it to be a fake mammal that a fan had thrown on stage.
